Computer screens, mobile phones, television are a part parcel of our day to day life. Keeping our eyes glued to these devices for a longer time
can lead to various problems such as headaches, dry eyes, watery eyes. Some of them are even severe like presbyopia(difficulty to focus on close up objects), cataract(clouding of eye's lens), floaters, flashes and age related macular degeneration.  These problems can be eliminated if we invest some time in eye care.

Make these Lifestyle Changes 

  • Drink 2-3 litres of water every day to keep your eyes moist and clean.
  • Wash your eyes with cold water at least 2 times a day.
  • Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. It contains antioxidants to slow the progression of eye diseases.
  • Quit smoking, as smoking increases the risk of cataract.
  • Give yourself a break of 20 seconds after every  20 minutes of stare to digital screens.
  • Wear UV- protected sunglasses when going out in the sun. 

Follow these Simple Exercise Routine

  • Palming: Rub your palms against each other and place them on your eyelids.
  • Zooming: Place a pen in your hand or do it with your finger keeping it straight in front of your eyes with your hand fully stretched. Focus on it for few seconds and then gradually keep on bringing closer to you until it is 3 inches away from your eyes. Keep your focus on the finger. Repeat the process 2-3 times.
  • Pendulum Exercise: Imagine a pendulum in front of you or use actual one. Keep swaying your eyes to and fro as the pendulum moves. This exercise sharpens the focus of lenses by working on oblique muscles of the eye. 
  • Figure 8:  Imagine a giant figure 8 in front of the floor about 10 feet away.  Trace the figure 8 with your eyes slowly.
