Deepika’s Philosophy For Healthy Lifestyle
Deepika says that one should not workout just to suit a role but to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Her fitness mantra is “Make fitness your way of life”.She is a fitness freak and very enthusiastically involves in her fitness routine.
She keeps on trying different things to keep her in shape. Workout regime should be an integral component of our daily routine to keep oneself fit and healthy .She says fitness doesn’t mean to be skinny or slim, in fact, one have to be healthy from inside.
Deepika’s Diet Plan
Deepika makes smart and healthy choices to follow her diet plan . While she doesn’t stop herself from eating anything, she makes sure that she eats in right amount. She never eats too much. She eats just to fill her stomach. The actress doesn’t follow any strict diet rules but sticks to a couple of basic healthy dietary habits.Here’s what her typical day’s menu looks like :
- Breakfast: Either two egg whites or dosa, idli, and upma with a glass of low-fat milk
- Lunch: grilled fish, 2 chapattis,a plate of salads and fresh vegetables
- Evening snacks: Dry fruits and nuts with filter coffee
- Dinner: chapattis along with fresh green salads and veggies
Also, she makes sure that she eats every two hours. She used to have seasonal fruits such as mangoes and grapes coconut water or fresh, natural juices. She keeps her well hydrated throughout the day.
She is a big fan of dark chocolate. She maintains her fitness despite her dark chocolate love. She lets herself indulge a little from time to time.
Deepika's Workout Routine
Deepika has been very active and fit since her school days. She used to play badminton regularly. She was also a state level badminton player and a model before she signed up for the movies. Here is Deepika’s workout routine:
Yoga: Deepika loves to do yoga and she prefers doing it over gymming or running. She wakes up at 6am and heads towards garden to perform her yoga poses. Yoga is great technique for relaxation and helps in keeping the mind calm throughout the day. Here you can read-Why yoga should be practiced everyday. It also improves concentration power and helps her to look young, fresh and healthy. Different asans coupled with meditation helps in removing out toxins from the body. She does the following:
- Meditation
- Pranayama
- Surya Namaskar – 10 reps
- Marjarisana or Cat Pose
- Virabhadrasana or Warrior Pose
- Sarvangasana or Shoulder Stand
Gym: Deepika is not in the habit of going to the gym regularly neither she likes doing gymming too much. She prefers going to gym only during her busy schedule. she likes to spend time on pilates and free-hand exercises. She , just performs light weights, depending upon which body part is being worked upon.
Pilates: Pilates is a great way to maintain flexibility and that too without any equipment. What you need is some space and a mat. It has helped in strengthening her overall body, increasing her flexibility, and improving her posture. Pilates and stretching makes her body look lean and not too muscular. She exercises daily to prevent soreness in the body, weight training is kept to a minimum.
Walk: Deepika used to walk 30 minutes daily post her yoga session. Walking helps to burn calories and relieves stress.
Dance: Dancing is an another way of working out when she is not in a mood to exercise. It helps to burn calories and she loves dancing too. She trains in different forms of dance, such as jazz, kathak, bharatnatyam, and Bollywood.
